Meet Our Therapists
David Rakita | PT, OCS, Cert.
MDT
David is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist and certified
in the McKenzie Method of Spinal Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.
David is the longest established physical therapist in the Durango
area, and is also a competitive triathlete.
Ellen Tomsic | PT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Ellen is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. She is fellowship
trained in manual therapy and is a fellow of the American Academy
of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Ellen has been practicing
physical therapy since 1990 and in Durango since 2000.
Jeni Hartmann | OT, PT, MPT
Jeni is both a physical and an occupational therapist.
She has been practicing since 1982 and has Aston Patterning certification,
training in the McKenzie and Maitland techniques of spine and extremity
manual therapy, hand therapy and in Kinesiotaping.
Debbie Lujan | PT, MPT
Debbie has her Masters Degree in physical therapy and has completed
multiple specialty orthopedic courses, including a one-year course
in spinal manipulation.

What do the certification letters after our names mean?
OCS:
Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
Dave and Ellen have attained this national board certification through
the ABPTS, which
accredits them with an “Advanced Level of Clinical Competence” in Orthopedic
Physical Therapy.
Cert. MDT: Certificate in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy
through the McKenzie Institute.
Dave has achieved this credential in the McKenzie Method of Spine (Neck
and Back) Therapy.
FAAOMPT: Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Ellen completed an additional Fellowship training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy to earn this credential. Ellen is the only Fellowship-Trained Therapist in the Four Corners region.
